For both skiers and fans, the 2024–24 FIST Alpine Ski World Cup has provided a plethora of exciting experiences. The season has seen it all—intense competitions, postponed events, and a few disappointments for its bigger personalities. Leading Alpine Skiing sensation Mikaela Shiffrin has checked all the boxes and then some during her month-long stint on the tour.
The two-time Olympian got the season off to a great start by leading the pack and earning an amazing score of 88. Three months into the tour, Mikaela Shiffrin has already surpassed her own record of 95 victories, watched her longtime boyfriend’s horrific accident, and most recently, passed away from injuries while unable to return to the course. Thus, the trip has raised concerns from those around, including prominent brands.
Mikaela Shiffrin had spoken of her anxiety of them prior to entering the Olimpia delle Tofane slopes on the 26th. She posted on Instagram, “I love it here…although being back on DH skis yesterday was a little bit of a shock to the system, and I had a couple “scary” moments on the course.” The champion lost control due to the machinations of fate and collided with the nets about the next day. Shiffrin missed a few days from the tracks due to an injury to his left leg sustained in the crash. Adidas Terrex sent a message on Shiffrin’s Instagram account that read, “Until we see you back on skis, rest up @mikaelashiffrin.”
