Aleksander Aamodt Kilde and Mikaela Shiffrin, two alpine skiers, confirmed their engagement.

Record-breaking World Cup winner Shiffrin and two-time Olympic medallist Kilde, a Norwegian, grew close in 2020 before becoming public as a relationship in mid-2021.

They have helped one other through hard situations over the past few years. Most recently, thirteen days apart, each skier crashed in a race this past January.

After sustaining leg issues, Shiffrin concluded the season in March. Kilde expects to recover from shoulder surgery and a serious leg laceration in the future.

It is anticipated that the next World Cup season would begin in late October.
