Nashville Soccer Club  Trades with Houston Dynamo over star Forward

The Philadelphia Union and the Houston Dynamo have traded with Nashville Soccer Club.

The Nashville Soccer Club announced today that McKinze Gaines was traded to the Houston Dynamo for $75,000 in 2025 General Allocation Money (GAM) and that $350,000 in 2025 GAM was used to purchase a 2024 and 2025 international roster space from the Philadelphia Union.

Gaines was first obtained from Charlotte FC in December of last year in return for Nashville SC’s automatic selection (#38 overall) in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft’s Second Round. The midfielder made his Concacaf Champions Cup debut against Moca FC in the second leg of the Round of 32, and he also contributed to a 2-2 draw against the LA Galaxy in five games as a Boy in Gold in all competitions.

This Saturday, April 27, Nashville SC will be back at GEODIS Park to take on the San Jose Earthquakes. The game will start at 7:30 p.m. CT on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and 104.5 The Zone radio. You can get tickets here.

  • The Philadelphia Union gives Nashville SC a slot on its foreign roster for 2024 and 2025 in exchange for $350,000 in 2025 GAM.
