The greatest Alpine ski racer in World Cup history was helicoptered away from the scene after she crashed into the safety netting at the summit of the Olympia delle Tofane. She was able to walk away from the accident with assistance.
Mikaela Shiffrin crashed into safety netting on her FIS Alpine Ski World Cup downhill run on Friday, January 26, necessitating a helicopter lift from the Olympia delle Tofane in Cortina d’Ampezzo.
Just in front of the enormous Tofanaschuss, the 28-year-old American had just landed a little jump when he skidded, losing his skiing line and sending him flying into the netting.
She seemed to bounce off the netting and then stopped close by, where she remained for a few minutes.
Shiffin was observed leaning against the netting while ski patrollers responded to her after a protracted wait. She eventually got up and left with their assistance, unable to bear any weight on her left leg.
